Fox, CBS and NBC renewed their multi-billion, multi- media contracts with the NFL on Wednesday, extending their partnerships nine more seasons through 2022 and securing the league with plenty of more comfort and financial joy now that their collective- bargaining agreement has been settled. Multiple reports are that the three networks will pay a total of $3.1 billion each year, split nearly evenly. That's up from a combined $1.9 billion the three are currently paying.

If the UCLA football team hits the ground running like its new coach has, the Bruins might never need to throw another pass. Jim L. Mora said Tuesday afternoon after his introductory news conference that he hoped to have two assistant coaches in place by the end of the day, and he did, with sources indicating former SMU offensive line coach Adrian Klemm would join UCLA in the same capacity and Arizona State wide receivers coach Steve Broussard was heading to Westwood to coach the running backs.
