Wesley Korir did not come to Los Angeles to win the Los Angeles Marathon.

With a competitive men's elite field including Ethiopia's Tariku Jufar and Kenyan countryman Laban Kipkemboi, Korir hoped to just maintain pace, to record a personal best, to finish.
