Sharishta Shourie had many decisions to make after her breast cancer diagnosis last September. Among them was undergoing breast reconstruction surgery right after removing both her breasts.

"I think every woman has body image issues whether or not you have breasts. As women we are hard on ourselves about our bodies, I just didn't want to have to worry about that, and I don't, I feel good," said the 26-year-old survivor who lives in West Hollywood and blogs about her cancer journey on MyLifeLine.org/Sharishta/. "It's not easy, especially looking at yourself in the mirror and seeing scars there, but it's part of the journey I've been on, so I kind of embraced it and it's made me who I am today."
