When the tree in front of Inge Kask's Northridge home withered and died, she and her family had the same thought: the dead branches looked like a massive nest.

So the family found a 3-foot tall metal stork statue at a garden supply store, painted it white, and wired it amidst the tangle of branches at the top of the tree.
